Let Me Introduce Myself

Announcement! As of August 1, 2019, the TOEFL Reading, Listening and Speaking sections will be shortened. The TOEFL will also make changes to its prep materials and scoring system. Because of this, some of the info in our blog posts may not yet reflect the new exam format. We cover all the changes here.

Hello, readers. My name is David Recine, and I have just joined the Clemmonsdogpark team as a TOEFL Expert. In the next few days, I’ll begin giving you tips for TOEFL success. Before I begin, I’d like to introduce myself.

I came into my teaching career quite by accident. In 2007, I was a business banker in the U.S. It wasn’t a bad job, but it was kind of boring. I began to apply for jobs that seemed more interesting, including overseas teaching jobs. Soon, I was ed by a South Korean teacher recruiter. In just a few months, I was out in South Korea, teaching English for their public school system. In just a few years, I was married and had a kid. My family and I decided to move back to America in 2010. There, I began teaching university ESL courses while earning my Master’s Degree in TESOL.

These days, I train ESL teachers for a local teacher’s college. On top of that, I teach academic English and test preparation to online students from around the world. I have been helping students prepare for the TOEFL for years. I’m very excited to share my knowledge with you. Let’s get started!
